Cancer cells are mutations of healthy cells that grow pretty fast.
Cancer cells simply behave differently from normal, healthy cells, due to a genetic mutation. This mutation causes them to grow fast, and they can spread throughout the body.
Guess what? By acting faster, you can prevent cancer.
Today is World Cancer Day. There are several things you can do to prevent cancer.
- Get regular medical care
- Eat a healthy diet
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Be physically active
- Get vaccinated. This is so important, especially if cancer runs in your family.
Getting vaccinated can protect you from:
1. Liver Cancer - this can be caused by the Hepatitis B/C virus
2. Cervical Cancer - this can be caused by the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)
This year's theme for World Cancer Day is, "I am and I will." It's a Multi-year campaign that began in 2019 aimed at reminding everyone together, all our actions matter.
